在一个名叫阿着底的所在，美丽的撒尼族姑娘阿诗玛（杨丽坤饰）心灵手巧，心地善良，歌声甜美，许多年轻小伙和姑娘甚至不辞辛苦千里迢迢赶来，只为一睹阿诗玛的芳容。在这群勇敢憨厚的好小伙中间，最为出众的青年阿黑（包斯尔饰）赢得了阿诗玛的芳心。他们郎才女貌，情意互属，羡煞旁人，却独独气坏了头人热布巴拉（崔超明饰）之子阿支（韩非饰）。阿支垂涎阿诗玛的容颜，千方百计想要将她骗到手，无奈阿诗玛如同一只冷艳带刺的玫瑰，坚决不从。为此阿支使尽各种诡计，企图拆散这对人间眷侣……\r\n本片根据撒尼族历史悠久的民间叙事长诗改编，荣获1982年西班牙桑坦德第一届国际音乐最佳舞蹈片奖。
